Through Valento, I have been working as a bricklayer for over 2 years now. Currently, I work in service and maintenance, driving my employer's work bus all over Limburg and visiting people's homes a lot for masonry work and repairs.

Before joining Valento Jobs, I was still self-employed, but I haven't regretted going back to employment for a moment. I really like the security I am offered now. Recently, many construction companies have gone bankrupt, so I am very happy to have a permanent employer through Valento and not to have to find my own assignments, especially now that competition has become so fierce. Choose security, for now and in the future.

Why work as a bricklayer in Maastricht?

Maastricht is a beautiful city with a rich history, a vibrant cultural life and plenty of construction and renovation projects. As a bricklayer, you can contribute to:

  • Building modern homes and business premises in neighbourhoods such as Céramique and Randwyck, where there is a lot of new construction and redevelopment.
  • Restoring monumental buildings in the historic centre, such as the famous Maastricht town houses and the old city walls.
  • Restoring facades and walls during renovations of characteristic buildings in the Wyck and Jeker Quarter districts, known for their historical charm.
  • Performing service and maintenance tasks (such as repairing masonry and grouting) at municipal buildings and monuments, such as the Saint Servatius Basilica and Maastricht city gates.

The construction sector in Maastricht is growing rapidly, mainly due to the ongoing development of the city centre and the repurposing of industrial buildings, such as the old factories along the river Meuse. Many older buildings in the city centre, such as the iconic shop premises on Stokstraat and Vrijthof, are being rezoned, which means there are plenty of opportunities for bricklayers. Demand for craftsmanship is high, as preserving the city's historical identity goes hand in hand with modern construction projects.

Who are we looking for?

There are several bricklayers in Maastricht and the surrounding area, but for the best man for the job, you need to look for someone with experience and skill. Do you recognise yourself in this? Because a good bricklayer has extensive knowledge of materials and techniques and knows how to apply them correctly. In addition, an eye for detail and precision are essential to deliver high-quality workmanship. Reliability and professionalism are also important qualities a bricklayer must possess.

Finally, creativity and solution-oriented thinking are key to effectively tackling any challenges at work.
