Google review rating

Through Valento, I have been working as a bricklayer for over 2 years now. Currently, I work in service and maintenance, driving my employer's work bus all over Limburg and visiting people's homes a lot for masonry work and repairs.

Before joining Valento Jobs, I was still self-employed, but I haven't regretted going back to employment for a moment. I really like the security I am offered now. Recently, many construction companies have gone bankrupt, so I am very happy to have a permanent employer through Valento and not to have to find my own assignments, especially now that competition has become so fierce. Choose security, for now and in the future.

Why work as a bricklayer in Heerlen?

Heerlen is a city with a rich industrial history and plenty of construction and renovation projects. As a bricklayer, you can contribute to:

  • Building modern homes and business premises, especially in emerging neighbourhoods such as the 'Schinkelshof' district and the area around the old mining trains, which are in full development.
  • Restoring listed buildings in the historic centre, such as the old miners' houses and the characteristic buildings around the station and Pancratius Church.
  • Restoring facades and walls during renovations, especially in neighbourhoods such as downtown Heerlen and the city centre, where many old facades are being refurbished and renovated.
  • Performing service and maintenance tasks (such as repairing brickwork and grouting) at municipal buildings and monuments, such as the listed town hall and the old mine buildings that are now being repurposed.

The construction sector in Heerlen is growing rapidly, partly due to the redevelopment of the old mining areas, such as the "District of the Future" and the city's upgrading as an important Limburg region. Many older properties, such as shop premises in the city centre, are being refurbished and given a new purpose, which means there are plenty of opportunities for bricklayers. Your craftsmanship is highly valued during this period of urban renewal.

Who are we looking for?

There are several bricklayers in Heerlen and the surrounding area, but for the best man for the job, you need to look for someone with experience and skill. Do you recognise yourself in this? Because a good bricklayer has extensive knowledge of materials and techniques and knows how to apply them correctly. In addition, an eye for detail and precision are essential to deliver high-quality workmanship. Reliability and professionalism are also important qualities a bricklayer must possess.

Finally, creativity and solution-oriented thinking are key to effectively tackling any challenges at work.
