As a Construction Planning Officer, you ensure that projects are well prepared from a technical, organisational and administrative perspective. You act as a key link between the office, the site, suppliers, subcontractors and clients.

You will be involved in preparing construction projects, monitoring the schedule and ensuring that the right information, materials and people are available on time. Thanks to your work, the project can get off to a smooth start and you’ll prevent any surprises on site.

No two projects are the same. One day you might be working on residential construction, the next on non-residential construction, refurbishment, maintenance or smaller regional construction projects. Depending on your experience and the client, your duties may include, amongst other things:

• Preparing and organising construction projects.
• Drawing up, monitoring and adjusting schedules.
• Checking drawings, calculations and technical documents.
• Requesting and comparing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ordering and coordinating materials.
• Identifying bottlenecks in the preparation process and contributing ideas for solutions.
• Maintaining contact with contractors, project managers, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitoring quality, costs, scheduling and agreed arrangements.
• Providing support with work budgets, additional and reduced scope of work, and project administration.
• Ensure that the operational team has the correct information and resources.

As a work planner, you are therefore the one who brings calm, structure and clarity to the project. You think ahead, spot details that others might overlook, and ensure that your colleagues on site can do their jobs properly.

You are someone who enjoys bringing structure to things and combines technical insight with good communication skills. You understand how important thorough preparation is to the success of a construction project.

You don’t need to be able to build everything yourself, but you do know what it takes to ensure a project runs smoothly. You liaise easily with site supervisors, project managers, suppliers and subcontractors. You work meticulously, think in terms of solutions and stay calm when things need to be sorted out quickly.

You have MBO+/HBO level of working and thinking, preferably in a construction or technical field. This could include courses such as Architecture, Middle Management in Construction, Works Planning, Construction Site Supervisor, Industrial Engineering or a similar qualification. If you haven’t completed a degree in construction but do have relevant experience in the construction industry, we’d of course be happy to consider your application.

We are looking for someone who fits the following profile:

• You have an MBO+/HBO level of working and thinking.
• Ideally, you will have completed a degree in architecture or engineering.
• You have experience in the construction industry, for example as a works planner, assistant works planner, site supervisor, project coordinator, quantity surveyor or in a similar role.
• You have technical insight and understand the dynamics of construction projects.
• You are good at planning, organising and setting priorities.
• You work with precision and keep track of everything.
• You find it easy to communicate with various parties.
• You are solution-oriented and take responsibility.
• You have an eye for quality, costs, safety and planning.
• You live in Limburg or are willing to work on projects in Limburg.
