An experienced wire cutter or an experienced CNC miller who wants to master wire cutting

In this job, you will operate several wire and zinc EDM machines, equipped with different tools. You will work with metals such as steel, bronze, copper, brass, stainless steel and aluminium. It is a versatile job because it combines several disciplines. Wire EDM requires knowledge of programming. You program the machines all by yourself. During and after production, you carry out your own checks to ensure a flawless product. 

The products consist of single pieces, smaller- but also larger series. Very large and heavy semi-finished products of up to 3,000 kg also pass through the benches! The precision in wire erosion is very high: precision can be achieved down to half a micrometre, which means that semi-finished products of only a few millimetres in size are also made. So there is plenty of variety and challenge.  

What do we expect?

• You have relevant work experience in engineering and are eager to learn the profession of wire EDM (experience with CNC/CNC milling is a requirement);
• You are able to read technical drawings;
• You have a working and thinking level at MBO level;
• You work with extreme precision and accuracy;
• Programming experience and should you have CAD experience as Esprit, Pc Fapt and/or Fusion 360 would be great;
• You have a sense of responsibility and are able to think outside the box, problem-solving;

Tasks include:

• Work preparation: good preparation is the basis of a successful end result;
• Setting up machines and placing workpieces;
• Independent programming of the machines;
• Operating various multi-axis wire EDM and zinc EDM machines;
• Namely measuring products in the measuring room;
• Final and quality control based on the drawings;
