Are you a technically skilled engineer who enjoys troubleshooting, understands machinery and has an interest in control engineering? We are looking for PLC Engineers on behalf of various clients in Limburg.

Through Valento Jobs, you’ll come into contact with great companies in Limburg. These include manufacturing firms, machine builders, technical service providers, maintenance companies and industrial organisations with a wide range of machinery, installations and production lines. As we have an extensive network within the engineering sector, we’ll work with you to identify which role best suits your experience, expertise and working style.

Whether you have experience with PLC faults, electrical maintenance, control cabinets, sensors, frequency converters, HMIs, machine control systems or industrial automation: we’d be happy to work with you to find the right next step.

At Valento Jobs, we don’t just look at what’s on paper. Above all, we look at what you can do in practice. Because a good PLC Engineer thinks logically, works safely and ensures that machines and systems keep running.

What will you do?

As a PLC Technician, you will work on machinery, installations and production lines within an industrial or technical environment. Your role will involve identifying, analysing and resolving faults in control systems, electrical systems and automation.

Your duties may vary depending on the client. One day you might be troubleshooting a fault on a production line; the next, you might be monitoring sensor signals, adjusting settings, working on a control cabinet or assisting with the commissioning of a machine or system.

You will be working with PLC systems, electrical diagrams, measuring equipment and technical documentation. In doing so, you will not only look at the fault itself, but also at its cause. You understand that a machine needs to be back up and running quickly, but also that a proper solution prevents the same problem from recurring later on.

Depending on your experience and the client, your duties may include, amongst other things:

  • Identifying, analysing and resolving faults in machinery, plant and production lines.
  • Working with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators and variable frequency drives.
  • Checking signals, cabling, components and control cabinets.
  • Reading and applying electrical diagrams and technical drawings.
  • Carrying out electrical maintenance and inspections.
  • Providing support with modifications, extensions and improvements to installations.
  • Testing and commissioning of machinery or plant components.
  • Working with systems such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron, Schneider or similar control systems.
  • Identifying recurring faults and contributing ideas for long-term solutions.
  • Recording of work carried out, faults and inspections performed.
  • Working together with operators, fitters, the technical services department, engineers and production.
  • Working in accordance with safety regulations, procedures and work instructions.
  • Contributing ideas on how to improve the production process and the reliability of plant.

So you’re not just resetting faults. You look beyond that, identify the root cause and ensure that the machines continue to run safely and reliably.

Who are you?

You are a mechanic with technical insight and an interest in control systems. You enjoy figuring out why a machine isn’t working as it should. You think logically, work accurately and keep your cool under pressure.

You don’t necessarily need to be an experienced PLC programmer. Perhaps you’re already working as a PLC technician, industrial electrician, technical services technician, fault-finding technician, panel builder or maintenance technician, and you’d like to develop your skills further in the field of control engineering and automation.

What’s important is that you have a solid grounding in electrical engineering, that you can tackle faults systematically, and that you work safely. You’re not afraid to ask questions, you collaborate with colleagues, and you take responsibility for your work.

For example, you might recognise yourself in the following:

  • You have experience as a PLC technician, electrical technician, maintenance engineer, technical service technician or in a similar role.
  • You have knowledge of electrical engineering, control engineering or industrial automation.
  • You can read circuit diagrams and analyse faults logically.
  • You have experience with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, variable speed drives or control cabinets.
  • Ideally, you will have experience with Siemens TIA Portal, S7, Allen-Bradley, Omron or similar systems.
  • You work accurately, safely and as agreed.
  • You think in terms of solutions and enjoy getting to the root of technical problems.
  • You can work independently, but you also work well as part of a team.
  • You’ll find it easy to liaise with operators, fellow fitters, engineers and managers.
  • A technical qualification in electrical engineering, mechatronics or industrial automation would be an advantage.
  • A VCA certificate is an advantage, or you must be willing to obtain one.
  • A Category B driving licence and your own transport would be an advantage.
  • You’re at home with technology and speak the language of the trade.

Whether your main strengths lie in troubleshooting, electrical engineering, maintenance, machine control systems or industrial automation, we’ll work with you to find where your skills are best utilised.
