Are you someone who can keep track of things on a building site, manage people and ensure that projects are carried out on schedule, to the required standard and in accordance with the agreement? We are looking for a Construction Site Manager for various clients in the construction sector.

Through Valento Jobs, you can connect with excellent construction companies in Limburg. These include regional contractors, family-run businesses, medium-sized construction firms and larger organisations with a wide range of projects. As we have an extensive network within the construction sector, we’ll work with you to identify which working environment best suits your experience, ambitions and working style.

Whether you have experience in residential construction, non-residential construction, renovation, maintenance, refurbishment or new-build projects, we’d be happy to work with you to find the right next step.

What will you do?

As a Construction Site Manager, you are responsible for the day-to-day running of the construction site. You ensure that tradespeople, subcontractors, suppliers and colleagues know what needs to be done and that the work is carried out safely, tidily and according to plan.

You act as the link between the construction site and the office. You liaise with project managers, works planners, clients, subcontractors and suppliers. In doing so, you monitor the project’s schedule, quality, safety and progress. When something changes, you contribute practical solutions and ensure that work can continue.

Depending on the client, you will work on projects involving new-build, refurbishment, renovation, maintenance, sustainability improvements, residential construction or non-residential construction. Sometimes you will manage a small team on a straightforward project. At other times, you will be involved in larger construction projects where several parties are working simultaneously.

You keep a close eye on what’s happening on site. You oversee the work, discuss tasks with tradespeople, resolve any issues and ensure that agreements are honoured. In doing so, you don’t lose sight of the details, but you also keep an eye on the bigger picture: planning, costs, quality and safety.

Depending on your experience and the client, your duties may include, amongst other things:

  • Managing and supervising tradespeople, subcontractors and suppliers on the building site.
  • Monitoring planning, progress, quality and safety.
  • Coordinating day-to-day operations on site.
  • Check that the work is being carried out in accordance with the drawings, specifications and agreements.
  • Liaising with project management, work planning, the client and the site team.
  • Identifying and resolving issues during implementation.
  • Allocating and coordinating materials, equipment and staff.
  • Holding work meetings, toolbox meetings and consultation sessions on the building site.
  • Ensuring safe working practices and compliance with site regulations.
  • Recording progress, deviations, additional work and handover points.
  • Supervising subcontractors and monitoring their work.
  • Contributing ideas on practical solutions and efficient implementation.
  • Providing support during handover and aftercare.

So you’re not just managing the project, but above all ensuring it runs smoothly. You’re a visible presence on the building site, speak the tradespeople’s language and know what it takes to deliver a good result together.

Who are you?

You’re someone who’s confident, keeps a clear overview and interacts easily with different people. You feel at home on a building site and understand how important clear communication is. You make sure everyone knows where they stand and speak to people when necessary.

You don’t necessarily need to have come from exactly the same role. Perhaps you have experience as a foreman, a hands-on site manager, an assistant site manager, a project coordinator or an experienced tradesperson, and you’d like to progress into a site management role. Perhaps you’ve been working as a site manager for years and are ready for different projects, more responsibility or a new working environment.

What’s important is that you understand the construction process. You know how different tasks fit together, spot potential problems in good time and come up with practical solutions. You’re able to plan, adapt and manage, whilst remaining approachable to the people on site.

For example, you might recognise yourself in the following:

  • You have experience in the construction industry, for example as a site manager, assistant site manager, foreman or experienced tradesman.
  • You have an understanding of construction and know how a project is carried out on site.
  • You can read and apply drawings, plans and technical information.
  • You’ll be able to keep track of everything, even when several parties are working at the same time.
  • You are able to give clear instructions to people and know how to ensure that agreements are followed through.
  • You’re a practical thinker and enjoy solving problems straight away.
  • You have an eye for quality, safety and planning.
  • You’ll find it easy to liaise with tradespeople, subcontractors, project managers and clients.
  • You have excellent communication skills, are clear and reliable.
  • You feel at home in the construction industry and speak the language of the trade.

Whether your main strengths lie in management, planning, engineering, refurbishment, new-build projects or leading teams: we’ll work with you to identify where your strengths lie and which client is the best fit for you.

Or perhaps you’re looking for the dynamism of larger construction projects, complex renovations or commercial projects involving many different parties. Together, we’ll discuss what’s important to you and which opportunities match your interests.
