Are you an earthworks operator who enjoys working outdoors, isn’t afraid to get stuck in, and takes pride in doing a neat and tidy job in earthworks, roadworks and hydraulic engineering? We are looking for earthworks operators in Limburg to work for various clients in the construction, infrastructure and civil engineering sectors.

Through Valento Jobs, you’ll be put in touch with contractors, infrastructure firms, earthmoving companies, landscaping firms, cable and pipeline companies, and construction firms in the region. As we have an extensive network within the construction and infrastructure sectors, we’ll work with you to identify which role best suits your experience, skills and working style.

Whether you have experience in excavation, sewerage, cables and pipes, paving, earthworks, trench digging, operating machinery or general outdoor work: we’d be happy to discuss the right next step with you.

At Valento Jobs, we don’t just look at what’s on paper. Above all, we look at what you can do with your hands. Because good groundwork is characterised by commitment, safety, accuracy and knowing what needs to be done on site.

What will you do?

As a Groundworker, you will be involved in various projects within the infrastructure, construction, civil engineering, renovation and maintenance sectors. These include roads, residential estates, industrial estates, building sites, cable and pipeline routes, sewerage projects and preparatory work for new-build projects.

Your duties may vary from project to project. One day you might be helping to dig and backfill trenches; the next, you might be working on sewerage systems, cables and pipes, paving, earthworks or preparing a building site.

You know that groundwork is physically demanding work where safety and a clear overview are important. You can see what needs to be done, work well with machine operators and colleagues, and ensure that the work is carried out properly and as agreed.

Depending on your experience and the client, your duties may include, amongst other things:

  • Digging, backfilling and finishing trenches.
  • Assisting with excavators and other machinery.
  • Work on sewers, cables and pipes.
  • Preparing roadworks, paving or construction sites.
  • Carrying out manual groundwork and clearance work.
  • Checking heights, depths and connections.
  • Working alongside train drivers, road workers, site supervisors and colleagues.
  • Ensuring a clean, safe and tidy workplace.

So you’re not just moving earth around. You ensure that outdoor work is properly prepared, carried out safely and completed to a high standard.

Who are you?

You’re a go-getter who knows what working outdoors entails. You don’t mind physical work, enjoy working with colleagues and love seeing tangible results. Rain, cold or mud don’t put you off easily.

You don’t necessarily need to have all the right qualifications. We consider experience, commitment and craftsmanship to be just as important. Perhaps you’ve been working as a groundworker for years. Perhaps you have a background in construction, civil engineering, landscaping, paving, contract work or outdoor work, and you’re looking to take the next step.

What matters is that you’re reliable, keep your word and work safely. You’re a practical thinker, you get things done and you feel at home on a building site or out at a project location. You don’t need to be one for tall tales; as long as your work speaks for itself.

For example, you might recognise yourself in the following:

  • You have experience as a groundworker, labourer, road builder, construction worker or in a similar role.
  • You have experience in groundworks, sewerage, cables and pipes, or paving.
  • You’re good at physical work and enjoy working outdoors.
  • You work safely, reliably and as agreed.
  • You work well with colleagues and train drivers.
  • You should ideally hold a VCA certificate, or be willing to obtain one.
  • A Category B driving licence and your own transport would be an advantage.

Whether your main strengths lie in sewerage, cables and pipework, paving, trench digging, operating machinery or general groundwork: we’ll work with you to find where your commitment and expertise can be put to best use.

What do you get?
