Are you a machine operator who enjoys working outdoors, is good with machinery and likes to get stuck in? We are looking for a machine operator for various clients in Limburg Green sector machinist.

Through Valento Jobs, you’ll come into contact with great companies in the fields of landscaping, agricultural engineering, grounds maintenance, infrastructure, municipal green spaces and the maintenance of outdoor areas. As we have an extensive network, we’ll work with you to identify which workplace best suits your experience, the machinery you’re comfortable operating and the way you prefer to work.

As a Green Sector Machine Operator, you’re someone who isn’t afraid of getting mud on your shoes. You’ll be working with machinery outdoors, ensuring that grounds, verges, public gardens, parks, industrial estates and other outdoor spaces remain tidy, safe and well-maintained.

Whether you have experience operating a tractor, mower, loader, mini-excavator, flail mower, brush cutter, sweeper or other landscaping machinery: we’d be happy to help you find the right next step.

At Valento Jobs, we don’t just look at what’s on paper. Above all, we look at what you can do in practice. Because a good machine operator has a feel for their machine, works safely, thinks ahead and knows how to deliver outdoor work to a high standard.

What will you do?

As a Green Sector Machinery Operator, you will be responsible for carrying out machinery-based work in green spaces and outdoor areas. You will work at various locations, such as industrial estates, municipal green spaces, parks, verges, public gardens, sports grounds, building sites or along roadsides.

Your duties may vary depending on the client. One day you might be mowing verges or large open spaces; the next, you might be using a loader, tractor, mini-excavator or brush machine to carry out maintenance, earthworks, transport or tidying up public spaces.

You will usually be working to a schedule, set of work instructions or a task assigned by the site manager or foreman. It is important that you are able to work independently, whilst also liaising effectively with colleagues on site. You will identify what needs to be done, work safely and ensure that the machinery is used and maintained properly.

Depending on your experience and the client, your duties may include, amongst other things:

  • Carrying out mechanical work in landscaping.
  • Working with machinery such as tractors, mowers, loaders, mini-excavators, flail mowers, brush machines or sweepers.
  • Mowing verges, lawns, grounds and green areas.
  • Maintenance of public gardens, parks, industrial estates and public outdoor spaces.
  • Carrying out light earthworks or agricultural engineering work.
  • Loading, unloading, moving or disposing of garden waste, soil or materials.
  • Checking your machine before and after use.
  • Reporting faults, damage or maintenance issues with machinery.
  • Work in accordance with safety regulations and work instructions.
  • Consult with the foreman, site manager, client or colleagues.
  • Ensuring a tidy and safe workplace.
  • Helping to come up with practical solutions on site.

So you’re not just operating machinery. You ensure that outdoor work is carried out neatly, safely and efficiently. You’re someone who can work independently, but who also understands that good teamwork is important on every project.

Who are you?

You are someone who enjoys working outdoors and has experience with machinery. You enjoy seeing tangible results and love it when the work is done properly by the end of the day. You work safely, handle equipment with care and have a knack for working with machinery.

You don’t necessarily have to come from exactly the same role. Perhaps you’re already working as a machine operator in landscaping. Perhaps you’re from the agricultural sector, contract farming, civil engineering, earthmoving, the horticultural sector or agricultural engineering, and you’d like to start working in the green sector.

What’s important is that you have a practical mindset, can work independently and take responsibility for your machine and your work. You understand that good machine operation is all about concentration, safety and working to a high standard.

For example, you might recognise yourself in the following:

  • You have experience as a machine operator, tractor driver, mower operator, loader operator, mini-excavator operator or similar.
  • You have an interest in landscaping, outdoor work, agricultural engineering or grounds maintenance.
  • You are able to work independently and keep track of things on site.
  • You work safely, accurately and as agreed.
  • You handle machinery, tools and materials with care.
  • You have a good understanding of technical matters and can tell when a machine isn’t running properly.
  • You don’t mind working outdoors in different weather conditions.
  • You work well with colleagues, the foreman or the site manager.
  • You are reliable and keep your word.
  • A Category B driving licence is important.
  • A BE, T or C driving licence would be an advantage.
  • A VCA certificate is an advantage, or you must be willing to obtain one.
  • Experience in maintaining garden machinery would be an advantage.

Whether you’re particularly skilled at operating a tractor, mower, loader or mini-excavator, or whether you’re a versatile all-rounder: we’ll work with you to find where your experience can be put to best use.

What do you get?

As a Green Sector Machine Operator, Valento Jobs gives you access to a range of opportunities with reliable clients in Limburg. Because we work with a wide variety of companies, we can carefully assess which workplace, machine and tasks are best suited to you.

Perhaps you prefer to work independently on a mower or tractor. Or perhaps a combination of grounds maintenance, earthworks and machine operation would suit you better. Together, we’ll discuss what’s important to you and which client would be a good fit.

What to expect:

  • Work as a Green Sector Machine Operator for a suitable employer in Limburg.
  • A salary of between €2,700 and €3,700 gross per month, depending on experience, knowledge of the machinery and ability to work independently.
  • Terms and conditions of employment in accordance with the client’s applicable collective agreement or regulations.
  • Full-time outdoor work.
  • A variety of projects in landscaping, agricultural engineering, grounds maintenance or outdoor spaces.
  • Working with good equipment and clear work instructions.
  • Opportunities for long-term employment.
