Project Coordinator (construction).

As a Construction Project Coordinator, you act as the link between the office, the site team, the client, suppliers, subcontractors and tradespeople on site. You ensure that projects run smoothly and that everyone knows what needs to be done.

You monitor the schedule, keep an eye on progress and ensure that agreements are honoured. When things change, you’re able to adapt quickly. This could include a change to the schedule, materials arriving later than planned, additional work or queries from the client. You think ahead, maintain an overview and ensure the project keeps running smoothly.

Depending on your experience and the client, your duties may include, amongst other things:

• Coordinating construction projects from the planning stage through to completion.
• Liaising with site staff, work planners, project managers and subcontractors.
• Monitoring planning, progress, quality and safety.
• Identifying bottlenecks and contributing ideas for practical solutions.
• Co-ordinating equipment, staff and work on site.
• Maintaining contact with clients, suppliers and colleagues within the organisation.
• Recording agreements, changes and progress.
• Providing support with project handover and project administration.
• Contributing ideas on how to implement the project efficiently.

So you’re not just planning and organising, but above all building connections. You ensure that the right people know what needs to be done at the right time.
