Are you someone who can oversee construction projects from start to finish? Do you keep a tight rein on the schedule, budget, quality and staff, without losing touch with the day-to-day operations? If so, the role of Construction Project Manager It might just be the next step in your career.

We are looking for project managers for various clients in the construction sector who are not afraid to take responsibility and know how to keep construction projects on track. Through Valento Jobs, you’ll come into contact with excellent construction companies in Limburg. These include regional contractors, family-run businesses, medium-sized construction firms and larger organisations with challenging projects.

As we have an extensive network within the construction industry, we’ll work with you to identify the working environment that best suits your experience, ambitions and leadership style. Even if you’re currently in employment but are open to a new challenge, you’re always welcome to discuss the possibilities with us in complete confidence. Everything we discuss will remain confidential.

What will you do?

As a Construction Project Manager, you are responsible for the successful completion of construction projects. You maintain an overview of the project, lead the project team and ensure that the schedule, budget, quality and safety are all properly aligned.

You are the link between the client, the operational team, the planning department, suppliers, subcontractors and internal colleagues. You ensure that everyone knows what needs to be done, that agreements are honoured and that any issues are resolved in a timely manner.

No two projects are the same. Depending on your experience and the client, you may work on residential construction, non-residential construction, refurbishment, maintenance, new-build projects or larger regional construction projects. Your role may vary from one organisation to another, but the core of the job remains the same: you ensure that projects run smoothly from preparation through to handover.

Your duties may include, amongst other things:

  • Managing, coordinating and supervising construction projects.
  • Managing project teams, work planners, site supervisors and other stakeholders.
  • Monitoring the schedule, budget, quality, safety and progress.
  • Maintaining contact with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Identifying risks, bottlenecks and deviations within the project.
  • Contributing ideas for practical and financial solutions.
  • Monitoring contractual agreements, additional and reduced scope of work, and project administration.
  • Coordinate with the implementation and work planning teams regarding progress.
  • Chairing or attending construction meetings and project meetings.
  • Ensuring that projects are completed to a high standard, safely and successfully.

As a project manager, you’re not just dealing with figures, schedules and agreements. Above all, you’re dealing with people. You know how to bring different parties together, clarify expectations and ensure that everyone is working towards the same goal.

Who are you?

You are a strong communicator who understands the construction industry. You know what’s going on in the office, but also what’s happening on site. You can liaise effectively with clients, management, site managers, work planners and tradespeople.

You have strong communication skills, are decisive and know how to maintain an overview when multiple interests are at play simultaneously. You think ahead, take responsibility and are not afraid to make decisions. At the same time, you remain practical and realistic: you know that a good project isn’t just sound on paper, but above all in its implementation.

You have a higher vocational education (HBO) level of working and thinking, preferably in a construction or technical field. This could include degree programmes such as Architecture, Industrial Engineering, Built Environment or a similar course. Do you have a vocational (MBO+) or higher vocational (HBO) level of working and thinking skills gained through years of experience in the construction industry? If so, we would of course be happy to consider your application.

We are looking for someone who fits the following profile:

  • You have a higher vocational education (HBO) level of working and thinking, or senior secondary vocational education (MBO+) with extensive relevant experience.
  • Ideally, you will have completed a degree in architecture or engineering.
  • You have experience in the construction industry, for example as a project manager, assistant project manager, project coordinator, works planner, site supervisor or in a similar role.
  • You have technical insight and understand the dynamics of construction projects.
  • You are good at planning, organising and setting priorities.
  • You have excellent communication skills and know how to win people over.
  • You are decisive, solution-oriented and responsible.
  • You have an eye for quality, safety, costs and planning.
  • You can switch between a strategic overview and practical implementation.
  • You live in Limburg or are willing to work on projects in Limburg.

If you don’t yet have the exact job title of Construction Project Manager, but are you ready to take on more responsibility? For example, from a role as a work planner, project coordinator or site supervisor? If so, we’d love to hear from you. Your experience, leadership skills and attitude are just as important as what’s on your CV.
